About us

The Blueprint coaches are current Division I runners.

We built this program because we lived the grind from high school to Big Ten competition. Every athlete gets the clarity, accountability, and mentorship we wish we had earlier.

Two Carsons. One standard.

Carson Lane and Carson Houg are teammates at the University of Iowa. We train, race, and coach together so Blueprint athletes feel the same level of trust and momentum.

Carson Lane

Precision-built training from triathlete to D1 runner.

I grew up doing competitive swimming and triathlons and then transitioned to running during high school. With proper coaching and dedication to the little things, I eventually achieved my goal of running at a Division 1 Power 5 school. I bring that same patience, structure, and belief to every athlete I coach.

  • Strengths: middle-distance, technical feedback, and building sustainable weekly rhythms.
  • Coaching vibe: clear, organized, and supportive with honest accountability.

Carson Houg

Competitive energy and Big Ten racing insight.

From average small-school runner to state champion.I started as a pretty ordinary runner at a small high school without many resources. Once I got obsessed with training and committed to learning the sport, I started to see real results. The work added up and eventually turned into three state titles at my senior state meet. Now I coach by giving athletes the clear structure and information I wish I had earlier.

  • Strengths: long-distance development, practical training progression, and athlete accountability.
  • Coaching vibe: straightforward, structured, and focused on long-term growth.
